A. Instruction
Thank you for purchasing the VBB5058, this battery is designed for use with
the Audiovox VBP50 and VBP58 “Portable DVD In Bag”. Please read the
entire manual prior to operation. The documentation will assist you in recharg-
ing the battery properly.
B. Rechargeable Battery Installation and Use
The NiMH battery pack is specially designed for your player, NiMH batteries
feature high storage capacity and low level of degradation. This means the
NiMH batteries doesn’t have “Memory Effect” and thus can be recharged safely
regardless of whether the battery is fully or only partially spent. Please fully
charge the battery prior to first use.
A full recharge takes approximately five-hours and one full charge can provide
power to the player for approximately 3 hours.
NOTE: When the DVD player is used with the battery as a power source,
ensure that the battery has been charged for at least Five hours prior to
connecting it to the DVD player.
While the battery is recharging, the light next to the DC power input will light
up RED. Once fully recharged, the light will turn GREEN. Once the light is
GREEN you may remove the wall plug.
C. Precautions related to Battery Recharge
1. Once the battery has been fully dis-charged it should be immediately
recharged (regardless of whether you plan to use Battery power again
or not) in order to maximize battery life.
2. To charge the battery, connect the power jack directly into the VBP50/
VBP58 main unit with the POWER Switch in the OFF position.
D. Using and Maintaining your Rechargeable Batteries
1. Make sure that only the AC transformer included with the Player is used
to recharge your batteries.
2. Recharge effectiveness will degrade when environmental tempera-tures
drop below 50oF (10oC) or exceed 95oF (35oC).
3. Remove Battery from the Player and store properly if the player is not to
